What You’ll Do

As a Tax Associate with our confidential client, you will support client engagements across federal, state, and local tax matters while building technical skills and professional judgment. This is an entry-level / early-career role designed for recent graduates or candidates with 0–1 year of relevant experience.

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns, supporting workpapers, calculations, and schedules
  • Analyze client financial and tax information, identify open items, and support tax planning and research
  • Use firm-approved tax preparation, research, workflow, document management, and collaboration tools
  • Collaborate with engagement team members and clients to gather information and resolve routine questions
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time, communicating progress and escalations promptly
  • Apply coaching and feedback to strengthen technical knowledge, professional judgment, and client service skills
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment in accordance with firm policies and standards
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Support tax engagements and develop an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, and tax needs
  • Prepare tax returns and related client deliverables with appropriate review and documentation
  • Document research findings clearly and escalate issues when needed
  • Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and a commitment to high-quality client service

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business discipline from an accredited institution
  • Meets educational requirements to obtain CPA licensure in the state of employment or a state with reciprocity
  • Eligible to pursue, or showing progress toward, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Resume and unofficial transcript(s) required as part of the application process

Preferred / Helpful experience and skills:

  • Internship, academic, volunteer, leadership, or customer-service experience is a plus
  • Foundational accounting knowledge and comfort applying academic concepts with supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and openness to emerging, including AI-enabled, technologies
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Organization, time management, attention to detail, and reliability

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $60,650 to $79,600 per year (actual pay influenced by skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, work arrangement, and location)
  • Confidential client offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees. Specific benefits vary by location and role.

Work Environment

  • Employment type: Full time
  • This role operates in a hybrid work environment with regular in-office attendance; office expectations vary by location and service line. Discuss specific work-location requirements with the client’s Talent Acquisition representative.
  • Additional hours may be required during peak periods (e.g., tax season)
