Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level water industry professional to join a national Water Infrastructure Modeling, Analytics, and Planning (WI‑MAP) team as a Project Engineer. This role focuses on planning and conceptual evaluations for water, wastewater, and reuse infrastructure and offers career development within a growing engineering practice.

What You’ll Do
As a Project Engineer on the WI‑MAP team you will manage and execute technical components of water industry projects. Typical responsibilities include:
- Support conceptual planning and master‑planning studies for water and wastewater systems
- Perform hydraulic modeling and analyses for water distribution and wastewater collection systems
- Evaluate pumping, storage, water quality, and water loss issues
- Assist with rainfall‑derived infiltration and inflow analyses and lift station evaluations
- Contribute to water supply studies (surface water, groundwater, reuse, water rights) and integrated planning
- Support asset management efforts, sanitary sewer evaluation studies, and capital planning
- Perform transient analyses, pumping optimization, and wire‑to‑water evaluations as required
- Prepare and deliver materials for client workshops and support presentations
- Coordinate effectively with regional project managers, WI‑MAP staff across offices, and water design teams
- Deliver high‑quality technical work on schedule and within budget; support project accounting and reporting
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Execute assigned technical scope items and produce technical deliverables
- Track and report project progress: status, milestones, percent complete, and basic accounting
- Contribute to Project Management Plans and Quality Control processes
- Support internal and external workshops and client communications
- Balance multiple projects while maintaining time management and quality standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical competency in water/wastewater or civil engineering appropriate for an entry‑level engineer
- Ability to contribute to multiple projects and manage time effectively
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering (ABET‑accredited)
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) registration or ability to obtain EIT within six months of hire
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., Bentley WaterGEMS, Bentley SewerGEMS, Innovyze InfoWater, Innovyze InfoWorks ICM)
- Strong hydraulics background
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS
- Practical experience beyond university coursework in one or more WI‑MAP work categories (distribution modeling, collection systems, supply planning, asset management, conveyance/transient analysis)
