What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Web/Full Stack Software Engineer to join an engineering team building modern, data-driven applications for mission-critical defense systems. In this role you will design, implement, test, integrate, and maintain full-stack software components used in situational awareness, analytics, and distributed mission environments.
- Design, code, unit test, integrate, document, and maintain web and backend components across the software lifecycle
- Build responsive front-end interfaces, data visualizations, and dashboards using modern UI frameworks
- Implement back-end services and data processing pipelines for real-time and event-driven workloads
- Contribute to DevSecOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, testing, and deployments
- Participate in Agile team ceremonies, peer reviews, and architecture discussions to deliver high-quality software
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions
- Support SW/HW integration activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers
- Work onsite at the Fullerton, CA campus as part of a collaborative engineering organization
- Note: This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (Secret). U.S. citizenship is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related) completed by start date
- Demonstrated proficiency with Full Stack web development and object-oriented design
- Experience or coursework using Java and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) and component-based architecture
- Understanding of reactive/event-driven programming patterns and WebSockets
- Exposure to back-end languages and tooling such as Java, Python, or C++ and common scripting languages
- Basic experience with Linux environments (Red Hat preferred)
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively in teams focused on engineering excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory) and static-analysis tools (Coverity, Collaborator)
- Familiarity with DOORS or requirements-management tools and JIRA for issue tracking
- Knowledge of data-forward tools and frameworks (Airflow, MLflow, Kubeflow) and data stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience or interest in real-time, distributed, or mission-support software (visualization dashboards, telemetry, situational awareness)
- Internship or project experience building data pipelines, AI/ML integration, or cross-domain systems
- Prior defense- or aerospace-related project experience or demonstrated interest in sensor and command-and-control domains
Location & Clearance
- Work location: Onsite — Fullerton, CA
- Security: Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance (Secret). U.S. citizenship is required. In some roles an active existing clearance may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (good-faith estimate): $62,900 — $119,700 USD per year. Final compensation considers role level, experience, and other factors.
