What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Water/Wastewater Engineer I to support planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater projects. You will apply standard engineering techniques and design principles on moderately complex assignments while learning from more senior staff. This role is hands-on and provides exposure to field investigations, design development, preparation of plans and technical specifications, and client-facing project work.
- Work on water/wastewater design projects as part of a multi-disciplinary project team
- Assist with development of plans, reports, specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates
- Perform design calculations, review computations, and support hydraulic modeling efforts
- Contribute to field investigations, inspections, and data collection
- Support proposal and marketing efforts to help grow client relationships
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders to meet project milestones
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Receive general instruction and project direction; escalate complex issues to senior staff
- Complete detailed design tasks using established engineering standards
- Prepare drawings using AutoCAD / Civil3D and assist with hydraulic modeling
- Produce clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with internal and external partners
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills
- Maintain client-focused attitude and a commitment to quality work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline required at time of hire
- Entry-level role — no prior full-time experience required; internships or academic project experience strongly preferred
- Academic or internship experience with water/wastewater systems, water treatment, distribution, pump stations, or operations preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, or hydraulic modeling tools strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completion preferred (or working toward it)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional field visits and site inspections

- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds and physical activities such as walking, bending, or climbing
