What You’ll Do

This confidential client is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to support hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, master planning, and digital-twin work for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The role is remote-friendly with a preference for candidates able to support teams and utilities in Orlando, FL.

  • Develop, calibrate, and maintain hydraulic and hydrologic models for water distribution and sewer collection systems
  • Perform hydraulic analyses: capacity, fire flow, pressure, water quality, and sewer conveyance
  • Support water/wastewater master plans and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) development
  • Conduct SSES and I/I (Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Studies / Inflow & Infiltration) analyses
  • Integrate GIS datasets into hydraulic models and maintain geospatial data workflows
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering memos, exhibits, and model documentation
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, planners, utility staff, and clients
  • Assist with proposal preparation, scopes of work, and project estimates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–5 years of experience in water/wastewater hydraulic modeling or master planning
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain EIT within a reasonable timeframe
  • Experience with at least one of the following modeling platforms:
    • WaterGEMS / WaterCAD
    • InfoWater Pro
    • InfoWorks ICM
    • InfoSWMM or EPA SWMM
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with utility clients and stakeholders

Compensation & Work Model

  • Salary: $80,000–$150,000 per year (range provided by client; final offer based on experience and qualifications)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Remote-friendly (hybrid or fully remote arrangements may be considered based on project needs)
  • Visa sponsorship may be available — discuss during the screening process

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Previous utility or municipal engineering experience
  • Familiarity with Digital Twin platforms or integration of real-time SCADA data
  • GIS scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, ArcPy)
  • Experience supporting CIPs, grant-funded projects, or regulatory compliance work

Location

Primary location for this listing: Orlando, FL (remote-friendly). Candidates should be able to support client teams and may occasionally coordinate with local utility staff.
