Position summary
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Management-in-Training — Operations (MIT) to join a distribution warehouse team in Lakewood, NJ. This is a hands-on 6-month training program designed to prepare you for Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager roles. Training is on-site in Lakewood with classroom sessions at a regional training center; relocation out of state (with company support) is required after completion.
What You’ll Do
- Receive immersive, hands-on training across all distribution center functions: receiving, picking/packing, purchasing, and operations management.
- Observe and learn established methods, procedures, and performance standards from experienced employees.
- Shadow contractors, builders, service/maintenance teams, and retail customers to understand the broader business.
- Participate in classroom sessions (lecture, role-play, computer lab) at the EDGEucation training center covering operations, financials, leadership, HR fundamentals, and operating systems.
- Deliver a comprehensive presentation to senior management upon successful completion of the 6-month program.
- Support special operations projects and other duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, Management, Operations, or a related field (minimum 2.5 GPA).
- Demonstrated leadership or problem-solving experience (work, internships, school organizations, athletics, military, or volunteer leadership).
- Comfortable working in a distribution warehouse environment.
- Results-driven, self-starter with the ability to lead and develop teams amid shifting priorities.
- Strong customer-service mindset and professional attitude.
- Willing and able to relocate during/after the program (relocation assistance provided).
- Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
- Able to operate or learn to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts) and lift up to 75 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn inventory/warehouse systems.
- Internship or hands-on experience in distribution, supply chain, or related fields is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay for this role in New Jersey: $28.85 per hour (full-time schedule).

Your total compensation (pay, benefits, and bonuses) will be adjusted based upon job classification, hours worked, and length of employment.
Additional details & compliance
- Training for the program is held on-site in Lakewood, NJ (SCP Distributors #129 - 1920 Swarthmore Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701). After completing training (expected in May for this cohort), relocation out of state is required for career development roles — relocation support will be provided.
