Job Summary
The Management in Training - Operations (MIT) Program is an entry-level, hands-on, on-site warehouse training program designed to prepare participants for operations supervisory and management roles in distribution. This is a 6-month guided program based in the distribution warehouse, followed by opportunity to apply for Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager roles nationwide.
Training is on-site in Auburn, WA; after completing the program you may be required to relocate (company-provided assistance available).
What You Will Do
- Receive hands-on training across operations, management, and purchasing within the distribution center.
- Observe and learn standard operating methods, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Shadow contractors, service/maintenance staff, and retail customers to learn different facets of the business.
- Participate in classroom training sessions (lecture, role play, computer lab) at the company training center covering operations, financials, leadership, human capital management and operating systems.
- Deliver a comprehensive presentation to senior leadership upon program completion.
- Complete special operations projects and other assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Management, Operations, or a related discipline with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Leadership or problem-solving experience (work experience, internships, club leadership, volunteer/community service, athletics, or military leadership).
- Ability and willingness to work in a distribution warehouse environment.
- Results-driven self-starter with strong leadership potential and ability to manage changing priorities.
- Customer-service mindset with professional communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to relocate during/after the program (relocation assistance provided).
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Ability to operate/position heavy machinery (pallet jacks, forklifts) and lift up to 75 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to learn inventory/operations systems.
- Prior involvement in distribution or supply chain internships, related clubs, or practical experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $28.85 per hour (based on full-time schedule). This position may be eligible for relocation assistance or cost-of-living adjustments.
