Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Voice Data Communications Engineer (Junior) to join their Information Technology team in Jbphh, HI. This entry-level engineering role supports the planning, design, installation, testing, and maintenance of voice and data communications networks. The role offers hands-on experience, technical mentorship, and the opportunity to grow within a mission-driven engineering organization.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with planning, designing, and developing large-scale voice and data communications networks to meet performance, security, and scalability goals.
• Support installation and deployment of voice/data systems in accordance with industry and organizational standards.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostic work to ensure reliable network operation.
• Help maintain and repair network infrastructure and respond to incidents to minimize downtime.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional technical teams to coordinate implementations and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Follow industry best practices and compliance standards in all engineering work.
• Other duties as assigned by program leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in voice/data communications engineering preferred; candidates with strong technical aptitude and certifications are encouraged to apply.
• Required certification: one of the following — BICSI Installer 1, Avaya Certified, or Nortel Certified.
• Top Secret clearance required; candidate must be able to pass background checks (additional checks may be required for certain projects).
• Eligible to work in the United States.

• Experience or familiarity with network diagnostic tools and telecom hardware/software utilities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: USD $51,000.00 - USD $61,000.00 per year.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
