What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a detail-oriented Claims Analyst to process victim compensation claims and payments. Key duties include:
- Resolve compensability issues and determine eligibility for victim compensation benefits per statutes, administrative rules, and procedures within two business days of receipt.
- Process and resolve inquiries received via the Automated Call Distribution toll-free victim services and provider lines or agency call center.
- Perform criminal history background checks using the Criminal Justice Information System accurately and without margin of error.
- Contact law enforcement and criminal justice entities to assess statutory elements of eligibility and obtain prosecution/restitution status.
- Contact victims telephonically to provide introductions, status updates, and instructions within two business days of claim assignment.
- Verify costs with vendors, advocates, treatment providers, employers, contractors, and collateral sources; authorize payments in accordance with rules and procedures.
- Identify potential subrogation activities and manage refund/recoupment/restitution issues as needed.
- Respond to telephone, email, fax, and mail inquiries within two business days; resolve problems and complaints professionally with minimal escalation.
- Perform Automated Call Distribution duties and meet monthly quantitative goals (minimum 50 claim determinations and 30 expenses paid per month).
- Finalize quality-assurance corrective actions within five business days of notification.
- Accurately enter caller and claim data into the claims management database and call-tracking systems.
- Meet performance expectations for call volume (average 52–62 live/return calls daily when assigned to calls).
- Complete special projects and directives within established time frames.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three (3) years of relevant clerical or administrative experience in one or more of the following: accounting; claims processing; claims or benefits eligibility determination; social or victim services; disability examiner; claims adjuster; insurance adjuster; or case manager processing eligibility and benefit payments.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required work experience.
- A high school diploma (or equivalent) may substitute for one year of the required work experience.
Preferred & Additional Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Experience working in a call center or with Automated Call Distribution systems.
- Bilingual Spanish fluency is a plus and may be given preference.
- Ability to perform criminal history checks and coordinate with law enforcement and justice system partners.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $42,024.32 annually (as listed by the source posting).
