What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a UX/UI Designer to lead the end-to-end design for a new, ground-up assessment platform. You will establish the UX framework, interaction patterns, and a scalable design system, then own and evolve the product experience post-launch.
- Define and lead the UX strategy: persona development, journey maps, information architecture, and navigation for a multi-role assessment platform (students, educators, administrators).
- Run user research and discovery (interviews, usability testing, surveys) and translate findings into actionable deliverables (personas, flows, specs).
- Create user flows, task flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to validate concepts with users and stakeholders.
- Design clear, actionable assessment data displays—dashboards, score reports, visualizations—that support quick decision-making.
- Develop onboarding flows and in-product guidance for educators and administrators.
- Build and maintain a scalable, accessible design system and component library.
- Own high-fidelity visual design and ensure consistency across screens while meeting WCAG accessibility guidelines and responsive design principles.
- Partner with Engineering and Product Management to produce design specs, support QA, and ensure accurate implementation.
- Iterate on the platform after launch—design new features, improve UX, and grow the design system as assessments and functionality expand.
What We’re Looking For
You are a product-focused UX/UI designer who has led greenfield, 0→1 experiences and can turn ambiguous problems into clear design outcomes.
- 4–7 years of product, UX, or UI design experience with a strong portfolio of relevant work.
- Proven experience leading 0-to-1 or greenfield product builds and creating design systems from scratch.
- Strong UX research skills (interviews, usability testing, surveys) and ability to synthesize findings into personas, journey maps, and detailed specs.
- Experience designing complex, data-heavy interfaces (dashboards, score reports, analytics).
- Skilled in Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design.
- Experience building/maintaining component libraries and scalable design systems.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and creating structure where it’s needed.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
