UX Designer
The UX Designer at Confidential Client collaborates with a global UX team to design next-generation public safety applications, focusing on device and peripheral display interfaces. The role involves working closely with researchers to understand user needs, conducting usability testing, and creating wireframes and prototypes to effectively communicate design intent to stakeholders. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a UX Designer to join a global UX team focused on public-safety applications. In this role you will:
- Collaborate with a distributed UX team to design next-generation application interfaces for devices and peripheral displays.
- Review concepts, refine design processes, and help maintain design consistency across product families.
- Work closely with researchers to interpret user needs and participate in usability testing.
- Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes using industry-standard tools to communicate design intent to stakeholders.
- Advocate for user-centered design and contribute to design system improvements.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid — telecommuting permitted 2 to 3 days per week (team and project needs will determine schedule).
- Location: Illinois (role is based in Illinois, US).
Compensation & Benefits
- Target Base Salary Range: $75,150 to $131,800 USD (pay varies based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience).

Qualifications
Minimum required:
- Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience producing wireframes, flows, and prototypes and running or supporting usability testing.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with product, engineering, and research partners.
- Familiarity with interaction design best practices and prototyping tools.
Preferred skills (nice-to-have):
- Experience in public-safety, telecommunications, or mission-critical application design.
- Contribution to or maintenance of a design system.
- Background in conducting or applying findings from user research.
