UX Designer
The UX Designer at Confidential Client will lead user research and apply human-centered and service design methodologies to improve HR services for a Defense Agency. This role involves synthesizing complex personnel workflows into actionable service enhancements, facilitating co-design sessions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support government modernization initiatives. The position requires an active Secret clearance and offers flexible remote work arrangements within a mission-driven environment.

What You’ll Do
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define user-centered product goals and deliverables.
- Lead end-to-end UX: user research, journey mapping, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and handoffs to engineering.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes and design specs using modern design tools to validate concepts and accelerate development.
- Plan and run usability studies and incorporate qualitative and quantitative feedback into design decisions.
- Advocate for accessibility, consistency, and scalable design patterns across products.
- Maintain and contribute to a design system, pattern library, and UX documentation.
What We're Looking For
- 1–4 years of hands-on UX / product design experience (Associate-level).
- A portfolio that demonstrates user-centered design process, interaction design, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong skills in wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design.
- Experience running or supporting usability testing and synthesizing user research into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable producing deliverables and specs that engineers can implement.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar modern design/prototyping tools.
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) to improve handoffs.
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design.
- Background designing for B2B or consumer web/mobile products.
