Overview
Confidential Client is seeking recent graduates for a full-time, onsite Utility Sales & Marketing Development Program based in Eagle Rock, NC. This 24-month rotational development program builds technical and commercial skills required for a career in utility/technical sales within Smart Infrastructure. Participants receive structured training, hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to strategic account management.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in a 24+ month rotational sales development program based in Eagle Rock, NC (Phase One: 12 months of foundational rotations; Phase Two: 12 months strategic residency in an Inside or Outside Sales placement).
- Complete four Phase One rotations covering transmission, generation, distribution, and business development.
- Learn product, systems, and processes through classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
- Prepare sales quotations, strategic account plans, pricing strategies, and customer-facing materials.
- Collaborate with sales teams, distributors, product management, and subject matter experts.
- Apply consultative selling, negotiation, networking, and established sales methodologies.
- Analyze market and industry dynamics to support go-to-market and channel strategies.
- Build relationships across internal teams and with external customers while executing assigned business responsibilities.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field — recent graduates (within ~18 months) encouraged to apply.
- Interest in the electrical/utility industry with an aptitude for technical concepts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn quickly and take on increasing responsibility.
Preferred
- Professional Selling Certificate or similar credential.
- Internship experience in sales or a technical role.
- Customer-facing experience in sales, construction, engineering, or related technical fields.
- Experience building professional relationships across teams and with customers.
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to work onsite in Eagle Rock, NC for the duration of the program. There is no relocation or housing stipend for this program.
- Willingness to travel and relocate later in the program as business needs require.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without sponsorship; this program does not support candidates requiring Visa sponsorship (e.g., F1, J1, M1, H1B) or OPT/CPT.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Full-time position.
- Salary range disclosed in the original posting: $72,000 — $74,000 per year (see client posting).
