Position overview

This entry-level Analyst role sits in the CFO Solutions team within the Finance function of a global financial services organization (Confidential Client). The program is designed for recent graduates and runs as a fixed-term contract (24 months) with an objective to develop Analysts into permanent roles where headcount and performance allow. Work focuses on collecting, cleaning and structuring financial and regulatory data, analyzing drivers and trends, and building the reports, dashboards and automation that management and regulators rely on.

What You’ll Do

  • Collect financial and regulatory data from source systems and internal teams, and structure it for repeated use.
  • Clean, reconcile and validate datasets; identify and resolve differences or escalate as needed.
  • Analyze movements in P&L, balance sheet, capital and regulatory indicators to identify drivers, risks and trends.
  • Produce recurring management and regulatory reporting (monthly/quarterly).
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, scorecards and analytical views covering profitability, balance sheet and regulatory measures.
  • Write Python to automate data collection, validation and report generation.
  • Use the team’s approved AI tools to accelerate coding, analysis and documentation.
  • Contribute findings in written summaries and presentations for senior management.

Primary responsibilities

  • Collecting & structuring data:
    • Gather and standardize inputs from disparate systems.
    • Reconcile figures between sources and document definitions/processes to avoid single-person dependency.
  • Analyzing data:
    • Perform variance, driver and scenario analysis; support forecasting work as it develops.
    • Highlight trends, patterns and risks that require management attention.
  • Building reports & tools:
    • Support the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle.
    • Maintain Power BI dashboards and analytical tools; automate routine tasks with Python.
    • Use approved AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related). Master’s preferred but not required.
  • 0–2 years’ relevant experience; internships and academic projects that demonstrate practical data work are valued.
  • Practical experience with Python and Excel on real data sets.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and SQL is preferred.
  • Comfort with quantitative analysis and basic statistics.

Skills & attributes

  • Strong analytical thinking: break problems into testable questions, identify the data that answers them, and reach defensible conclusions.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
  • Curiosity about why numbers move (drivers, trends, time series).
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly — growth mindset matters more than initial skillset.
  • Organized approach to work and good time-management.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts (balance sheet, P&L, profitability, RWA, cost of risk). Prior banking experience is helpful but not required.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for research or code assistance is a plus (only approved tools used in production).

Compensation & terms

  • Salary: $80,000 per year (USD).
  • Contract: Fixed-term (24 months). The role is part of an Analyst development program with structured training and mentoring.
  • Location: New York, NY, USA.
  • Employment type: Contract (fixed-term). Conversion to permanent may be possible depending on performance and headcount.

Why this role

This role offers broad exposure across financial steering, ALM and CFO analytics. You’ll learn end-to-end financial data workflows, from raw sources to management reporting and dashboards, while gaining hands-on experience in Python, Power BI and applied quantitative analysis. The program includes training, mentoring and opportunities for mobility within the finance function.
