Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Unit Specialist (Part‑Time) to join the Women's Center in Sergeant Bluff, IA. This is an entry-level clinical role in a residential addiction treatment setting. The Unit Specialist supervises clients, supports therapeutic programming, assists with medication administration and transports clients to community activities. This role is onsite, offers hands-on experience in behavioral health, and supports continued professional development toward CADC certification.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct supervision, behavior management and support to clients in a residential treatment milieu
  • Facilitate education groups, community groups and AA step‑work sessions
  • Administer medications and follow medication administration protocols
  • Transport clients to community events and appointments as required
  • Monitor and document client progress, group dynamics and daily logs consistent with laws, rules and agency standards
  • Coordinate and supervise client recreational and therapeutic activities
  • Deliver scheduled client lectures and educational content
  • Consult and collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team; participate in team meetings
  • Ensure unit cleanliness, supply management and proper use of equipment
  • Serve as a positive role model; provide excellent customer service to clients and families
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with the client’s Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
  • Behavioral health or addiction treatment experience preferred but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using computers and common office software (Microsoft Office, email, internet); quick to learn new systems
  • Must pass occupational health screening and any required background checks
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts and remain flexible for additional hours as needed

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours: Friday & Saturday, 1:00 PM–11:00 PM (20 hours per week)
  • Shift: 2nd Shift (onsite) — Part‑Time
  • Starting pay (based on education):
    • $18.43 per hour — High School Diploma
    • $19.37 per hour — Associate’s Degree
    • $20.25 per hour — Bachelor’s Degree
  • Shift differentials:
    • Second shift: +$0.25 per hour
    • Third shift: +$0.50 per hour
  • Incentives:
    • $1,500 annually with tCADC/CADC
  • This position is onsite at the Women's Center in Sergeant Bluff, IA.
