What You’ll Do
This entry-level Underwriting Technician role supports underwriting operations in the commercial auto (Limo) area. You will work closely with underwriters and operations staff to ensure accurate policy processing and excellent service to agents.
- Perform administrative duties for underwriters in the commercial auto division
- Organize and collect data for reports
- Review applications and policy forms for accurate policy setup
- Prepare and issue new and renewal policies
- Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements
- Send policy and endorsement documents to agents
- Respond to email and phone inquiries professionally and promptly
- Complete other duties as assigned to support the underwriting team
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree required
- Experience in an insurance environment preferred (entry-level applicants encouraged)
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $48,000 – $52,000 per year (pay will depend on skills and experience; may be adjusted for geographic differential)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Work arrangement: Onsite / Hybrid (local presence in Long Beach, NY expected)
