Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Underwriting Support Associate to join their underwriting operations team in Richmond, VA (on-site). This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in insurance underwriting support, gain hands-on operational experience, and grow into expanded underwriting or technical roles with demonstrated performance.

What You’ll Do

• Provide daily operational support to the underwriting team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks
• Perform administrative and processing duties that support policy issuance, file setup, and underwriting documentation
• Learn and apply underwriting support workflows, systems, and internal procedures
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Track and follow up on outstanding items to help keep underwriting lifecycles on schedule
• Participate in process improvement efforts to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Take on additional responsibilities as skills and knowledge expand

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
• 1–2 years of experience in insurance, financial services, or a related field preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving orientation, and willingness to learn new systems and processes

• Estimated base: $64,308 per year (estimated)
• Location: Richmond, VA — this role is on-site
