What You’ll Do
This mobile Ultrasound Sonographer role delivers high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging across hospitals, outpatient clinics, and patient residences. You will use portable ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images, communicate findings, and ensure excellent patient care.
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations and explain procedures in a clear, compassionate manner
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout procedures
- Perform abdominal, vascular, and other general ultrasound exams using portable equipment
- Optimize image quality by adjusting technical factors and applying proper scanning techniques
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to determine appropriate imaging protocols
- Operate, clean, and maintain portable ultrasound equipment; report technical issues promptly
- Document patient data and exam findings accurately in electronic health records
- Communicate imaging results and urgent findings to the care team in a timely manner
- Follow safety protocols, infection control practices, and regulatory standards
- Keep skills current with advances in ultrasound technology and mobile sonography best practices
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related accredited program
- Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent required
- Technical skills: Proficient with portable ultrasound systems and fundamentals of ultrasound physics
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with clinical teams
- Work style: Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to varied clinical settings
- Experience: Previous mobile ultrasound or clinical sonography experience preferred but entry-level candidates meeting certification/education requirements will be considered
- Employment type: Full-time
Working Conditions
- Travel to various patient locations including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and private residences
- Exposure to diverse clinical environments and patient conditions; adherence to PPE and safety guidelines expected
- Ability to lift and maneuver portable ultrasound equipment and assist patients as needed
- Flexible scheduling may be required, including occasional evenings or overtime depending on patient needs
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour (depending on experience), plus monthly bonus and incentive opportunities
