Summary
Confidential Client is hiring a Mobile Ultrasound Sonographer to perform portable diagnostic ultrasound exams across Indianapolis, IN. This role focuses on high-quality image acquisition, patient safety and comfort, clear documentation, and reliable operation of portable ultrasound equipment. Ideal candidates hold RDMS certification (or equivalent) and have strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform mobile ultrasound examinations (abdominal, vascular, general) using portable systems.
- Prepare, position, and instruct patients; monitor comfort and safety throughout exams.
- Optimize image quality by adjusting technical settings and applying correct scanning techniques.
- Communicate findings clearly and promptly to ordering physicians and care teams.
- Accurately document patient information and exam results in electronic health records.
- Operate, clean, and maintain portable ultrasound equipment; identify and report technical issues.
- Follow safety protocols, infection-control procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Stay current with ultrasound best practices and continuing education.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related accredited program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification or equivalent required.
- Proficient with portable ultrasound equipment and understanding of ultrasound physics.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel to multiple locations.
- Prior mobile sonography or clinical ultrasound experience preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
- Travel to hospitals, outpatient clinics, and patient residences within the Indianapolis area.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver portable ultrasound equipment and assist patients as needed.
- Exposure to varying patient environments and conditions; appropriate PPE and safety procedures required.
- Typical employment type: Full-time.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour (dependent on experience) plus monthly bonus/incentive opportunities.
