What You’ll Do

Confidential client is hiring a UI/UX Designer to lead mobile product design for companion apps that pair with connected hardware. You will be embedded in a cross-functional product pod and own scoped, end-to-end feature design—from problem framing and user flows to high-fidelity UI, prototyping, and developer handoff.

  • Own end-to-end mobile feature design: research, flows, wireframes, hi-fi screens, and implementation support
  • Build and maintain detailed user flows and interactive prototypes in Figma that communicate logic, states, and edge cases
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers during discovery, planning, and launch
  • Contribute to and evolve a shared design system for iOS and Android consistency
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data (user research, analytics, usability tests) to validate and iterate designs post-launch
  • Present design rationale and tradeoffs to stakeholders and leadership
  • Design accessible mobile experiences applying platform accessibility standards (visual hierarchy, typographic scale, color, touch targets)
  • Work with engineers through implementation and QA to ensure shipped experiences match design intent

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of product design experience shipping consumer or professional mobile apps for iOS and/or Android
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of shipped product work (problem framing, flows, wireframes, hi-fi UI, prototypes, iteration)
  • Proficiency in Figma, including building component libraries and interactive prototypes
  • Strong understanding of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Android Material Design
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and moving quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineers through implementation and QA
  • Clear communicator able to present design decisions to both design and non-design audiences

Preferred

  • Experience designing connected hardware/software experiences (Bluetooth/BLE pairing, onboarding, calibration, live-session flows)
  • Experience contributing to or scaling a component library or design system
  • Experience with UX copy/microcopy and conducting usability research
  • Comfortable incorporating AI tools into design workflow (e.g., Figma AI) to accelerate work without sacrificing quality
  • Interest or background in sports, fitness, or performance-tracking products

Portfolio

  • Include 2–3 case studies showing your direct contribution to shipped mobile product work. Highlight the user problem, your role and scope, workflows and edge cases you explored, key tradeoffs, final interface/prototype, and what shipped.
