Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a UA Associate — Surety to join a hybrid Surety team supporting underwriting and bond administration across North American offices (primary location: Schaumburg, IL; role may also report to Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TX). This is an entry-to-early-career underwriting support role focused on bond servicing, data collection and basic underwriting tasks. The position is full-time and hybrid.


What You’ll Do

  • Support underwriters and managers with end-to-end bond administration for basic to moderately complex business.
  • Respond to agent/broker inquiries and service requests in a timely, professional manner; escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Process new bond entries, rate/quote requests, billing inquiries and other routine service tasks.
  • Maintain high-quality file documentation and accurate bond notes; ensure files are complete.
  • Serve as the UW team’s primary contact for billing questions and disputes; assist with invoicing accuracy.
  • Use internal systems and self-service tools to collect and analyze data supporting risk assessment and service delivery.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams, brokers/agents, and stakeholders to deliver strong customer service.
  • Expect occasional in-office attendance for collaborative work as part of the hybrid model; travel up to ~5%.

What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) and no prior experience required in Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance; OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (Associate degree) with no prior experience; OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years’ relevant experience in administrative, customer service, financial services, risk management or insurance.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and comfort with data collection/analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently with supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance industry knowledge or exposure to processing, rating, and policy management systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; active listening and relationship-building skills.
  • Customer service experience and a service-first mindset.
  • Comfortable working with detailed data and producing accurate, timely documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $23.80 - $38.94 per hour (hourly range disclosed). Role also includes a short-term incentive bonus opportunity (~5%).
