Transportation Lane Manager - International Trade

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Transportation Lane Manager (International Trade) to own day-to-day planning and cross-border lane operations. You will drive operational excellence across assigned lanes to deliver service, cost/cash and compliance outcomes. This role acts as the business owner for assigned lanes and requires proactive issue resolution and structural interventions for sustainable results.
- Monitor KPIs and provide root-cause analysis to improve OTD, reduce detention & demurrage and air freight, and support sustainability goals.
- Oversee end-to-end cross-border operations and set clear direction for 3PL/4PL partners.
- Manage carrier and 3PL/4PL performance and operational relationships.
- Collaborate with planners, plants, distribution centers, purchasing, regional BPX/KU, SPS, receiving and sending regions.
- Support Global Business Unit initiatives, lane sourcing changes, and new lane start-ups.
- Attend Daily Direction Setting (DDS) sessions and intervene on milestone timeliness and data accuracy.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure execution of lane-creation, carrier reviews, and 3PL/4PL action plans.
What We’re Looking For
Required minimums:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in transportation operations.
Preferred/valuable experience:
- Experience managing 3PL/4PL and carrier relationships in international trade lanes.
- Familiarity with KPI tracking, root-cause analysis, and cost-to-serve initiatives.
- Experience supporting lane design, lane data management, and carrier performance reviews.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management — able to influence across functions and levels.
- Clear written and verbal communication; strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Discipline in execution and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strategic thinking — capable of building and executing short- and long-term plans.
- Ability to advocate for and enforce global/regional I-Trade standards.
- Comfortable identifying lane data gaps and implementing corrective actions.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is a plus (encouraged but not required).
Compensation & Logistics
- Employment type: Full time
- Starting salary / range: $85,000 - $122,200 per year (range provided by Confidential Client)
