Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Transportation Fleet Manager based in Baytown, TX. This is an entry-level management role responsible for supervising a dedicated fleet of professional drivers, ensuring on-time service, managing utilization and maintenance, and maintaining strong driver and customer communication.

What You’ll Do

Confidential Client seeks a hands-on fleet manager to coach drivers, monitor daily operations, and partner with internal teams to prevent service failures. This role focuses on driver performance, asset utilization, safety, and customer satisfaction.

• Manage a dedicated fleet of professional drivers and maintain strong driver relationships
• Track and trace trucks throughout the day; manage ETAs, PTAs, and load confirmations
• Monitor key metrics: utilization, fuel (MPG, out-of-route miles, idle time), maintenance, and safety incidents
• Manage driver PM schedules for tractors and trailers and coordinate equipment inspections
• Handle home-time requests in accordance with account expectations
• Respond promptly to driver messages and assist with payroll, fuel issues, and advances
• Accurately maintain operational data in AS400 and/or TMW systems
• Coordinate with Dispatch, Planning, Safety, and Customer Service to resolve operational issues
• Follow established procedures and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred
• 0–3 years of management or leadership experience (entry-level manager)
• Transportation industry experience preferred
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and driver Hours-of-Service (HOS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AS400 and/or TMW experience is a plus
• Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and manage people effectively
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

• Expected Pay Range: $53,062.00 - $59,853.50 (typical hire range)
• Full Pay Range: $53,062.00 - $82,025.00
