What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an Early Professional Transportation Engineer to join their regional transportation team. In this role you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of transportation civil infrastructure projects. Typical responsibilities include:

• Assist and support design teams across project delivery phases (preliminary design, final design, contract documents)
• Produce basic design calculations and standard engineering analyses
• Develop drawings and details using CADD platforms (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads/OpenRoads and/or MicroStation)
• Help prepare cost estimates, specifications, memoranda, and technical documentation
• Collect and organize field data and project information
• Attend design meetings and coordinate with multi-discipline team members (drainage, structures, etc.)
• Propose practical solutions to routine technical problems and escalate complex issues appropriately
• Maintain clear, professional written and verbal communications with internal teams and clients
• Complete additional assignments as needed to meet project objectives and client expectations

Who We’re Looking For

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
• 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience (entry-level / early-career)
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working on a team and independently
• Basic technical writing and proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
• Willingness to work project-driven schedules that may extend beyond a standard workweek
• Commitment to workplace safety and professional ethics
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or active pursuit of EIT
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, InRoads/OpenRoads
• Related internship experience or university co-op in transportation or civil engineering
• Participation in local professional organizations (ASCE, ITE, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $65,600 - $82,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client and may vary based on experience, location, and other lawful factors)

• Primary work location: University Place, WA (office-based with potential for flexible arrangements as project needs allow)
