What You’ll Do

Confidential Client seeks an entry-level Transportation Engineer I to support transportation planning and engineering projects. You will learn and apply standard transportation engineering techniques on moderately complex projects, contribute to multi-disciplinary teams, and help develop solutions that improve mobility, safety, and multimodal access.

• Support project teams by preparing maps, graphics, and presentation materials for client and public meetings
• Collect and analyze field and traffic data; perform data-driven evaluations and prepare recommendations
• Assist with engineering plans, reports, cost estimates, schedules, specifications, and permit documentation
• Contribute to traffic operations analyses, signal design, ITS design, corridor studies, lighting and safety projects
• Help prepare grant applications and funding-related deliverables
• Participate in construction support and field observation as required
• Draft memos, transmittals, meeting minutes, and other client communications
• Maintain organized project files and follow QA/QC procedures under senior staff review

Estimated compensation (from source): $104,843 per year (estimated).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline required at time of employment
• Academic coursework or internship experience in transportation preferred
• Entry-level role — no prior professional experience required (any experience is a plus)
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) completion preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle check or have reliable transportation
• Preferred technical knowledge: MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity with ITS concepts, highway lighting, and DOT permitting/design standards

• Some outdoor field work and travel to job sites; may include variable weather and construction environments
