Overview
Transportation Engineer Fountainebleau, FL — Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Structural Transportation Engineer to support bridge and roadway structure design for FDOT-related projects. This role offers hands-on design work, field data collection, and mentorship from senior transportation engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Support design and detailing of bridges and miscellaneous roadway structures for FDOT and other transportation projects
- Prepare plan details, outlines, material quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates for portions of projects
- Assist with technical specifications, permit application packages, and sections of technical reports
- Create and review design drawings within defined limits and review contractor submittals
- Evaluate vendor bids and drawings for compliance with specifications
- Assist in developing studies, models, and calculations to support design, planning, or reports
- Perform field measurements and collect data as needed
- Support proposal development and collaborate with project teams to meet deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent)
- Interest in structural/transportation design with a focus on bridge and roadway structures
- Familiarity with engineering design software and automated drafting/design tools (experience with specific packages is a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare technical reports and drawings
- Willingness to perform occasional field work and participate in project site activities
- Eagerness to learn and take direction from senior engineers — this is an entry-level role designed for growth and mentorship
