What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is looking for an entry-level Transportation Design Engineer to support traffic- and technology-focused transportation projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include a mix of Traffic and/or ITS design support and project documentation.
- Support traffic and ITS design tasks on transportation projects
- Assist with traffic studies, signal plans, signing and pavement marking layouts
- Prepare CAD and MicroStation drawings and technical design documents
- Help develop specifications, bid documents, and technical memos
- Collect and analyze data for safety and operations analyses
- Coordinate with project teams and assist with client deliverables
- Support field visits, QA/QC checks, and installation coordination when needed
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple project tasks to meet deadlines
Preferred / helpful experience:
- Some exposure to traffic engineering, ITS, tolling systems, or traffic operations
- Experience with CAD, Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
- Familiarity with fiber/wireless communications related to ITS
- Technical writing or drafting experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
