Role summary
Careertakes is assisting a Confidential Client to hire a Transmission Project Coordinator focused on Project Management Controls. This role supports transmission line, substation, communications and security projects by helping the Project Manager monitor scope, cost and schedule, coordinate project documentation, and manage change and closeout activities.
What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level to early-career project controls role where you will provide hands-on support to Project Managers on transmission and related infrastructure projects.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing and validating project documents (equipment and construction bid packages, requisitions, Bills of Material/Material Requests, Task Authorizations, Engineering Work Requests)
- Support project and contract budget reviews and assist in monitoring cost variances and forecasts
- Coordinate change management requests for scope, schedule and cost under Project Manager direction
- Participate in and document coordination meetings with contractors, engineers, suppliers and stakeholders
- Monitor and report contractor resource levels and progress
- Support development, update and issuance of project schedules and progress reporting
- Maintain project files and documentation to support closeout and lessons-learned activities
- Assist with project audits and benefits realization reviews
- Help ensure contract terms and purchase order documentation are understood and followed
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management or related field required. Consideration given to non-degreed candidates with 4+ years related project management experience or 2+ years transmission experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability
- Team-player attitude and willingness to work in collaborative environments
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the service territory as required
Skills & Tools (preferred / commonly used)
- Project controls / schedule and cost tracking
- Change management and contract documentation
- Familiarity with construction or transmission project workflows
- Proficiency with project documentation (RFPs, BOMs, Task Authorizations)
- Comfortable attending and documenting coordination meetings

Compensation
The Confidential Client takes a market-based approach to pay. The estimated pay range for this role is $66,725–$94,200 per year (annual). Certain locations may have locality differentials; the Confidential Client will discuss salary, location adjustments and total compensation during the hiring process.
