What You’ll Do

This role supports project controls for transmission projects (lines, substations, communications/security) and assists the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, on scope, on budget and on schedule.

• Review and help prepare project documents (equipment & construction bid packages, requisitions, Bills of Material, Material Requests for Issue, Task Authorizations, Engineering Work Requests).
• Monitor and report project and contract budgets; assist with forecasts and cost variance reporting.
• Coordinate change management requests for scope, schedule and cost per Project Manager direction.
• Participate in and document weekly coordination meetings with contractors, engineers and suppliers.
• Monitor contractor resourcing and report status to the Project Manager.
• Support schedule development, updates and issuance; help identify resource needs to meet scope and schedule.
• Maintain project files to support closeout; coordinate completion of closeout documentation.
• Support lessons-learned meetings and assist in project audits to validate objectives and benefits.
• Understand contract terms and documentation related to services under purchase orders and contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management or related field is required. Consideration given to non-degreed candidates with 4+ years related project management experience or 2+ years transmission experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and solid analytical ability.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively on teams.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to assigned project locations throughout the service territory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with project controls tools and scheduling software is a plus.

Compensation & Location

• Estimated pay range for this position in Convent Station, NJ: $80,070 - $113,040 per year (estimated; includes NJ location differential). Pay may vary by location and candidate qualifications.
• Employment type: Full-time.
• This position requires travel to project sites as assigned.
