Position summary

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Transmission Line Design Engineer (Civil) to join their Nevada engineering team. This role is ideal for new graduates (December 2026 or May 2027) who want hands-on experience designing transmission-line structures, conductors, and foundations, working with licensed PEs, and progressing toward a PE license.


Key responsibilities

  • Design and analyze transmission line systems: structures, conductors, and foundations.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, material lists, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Conduct field visits and inspections to confirm compliance with design standards and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with utility clients, project managers, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineers to ensure project success across Nevada and other U.S. regions.
  • Use modeling and simulation tools for transmission-line performance (PLS‑CADD, PLS‑POLE — training provided).
  • Stay current with industry codes, standards, and best practices.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (completed or expected by May 2027).
  • EIT certification or plan to pass the FE exam within the first year.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and performing periodic site travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be located in Nevada (able to travel periodically to project sites across the state and region).

Preferred qualifications

  • Coursework in structural or geotechnical engineering.
  • Internship or co-op experience in civil, structural, or utility-related work.
  • Any exposure to transmission-line design software (e.g., PLS‑CADD, PLS‑POLE).
