Key Responsibilities

  • Learning Design & Development
  • Help identify gaps in current training and translate them into clear, measurable learning objectives tied to real outcomes (safety, quality, customer experience).
  • Partner with leadership, experienced team leads, and subject-matter experts to gather input on training content and the best way to teach it.
  • Design training that blends formats — hands-on/job-site demonstrations, instructor-led classroom sessions, and self-paced materials — based on content needs.
  • Build structured curriculum and simple certification checkpoints for new-owner onboarding and ongoing crew training, applying basic adult-learning principles.
  • Create supporting materials that reinforce key concepts: presentations, job aids, quizzes, checklists, short videos, and role-play scenarios.
  • Turn existing know-how — from team leads, past training materials, and field procedures — into clear, usable training content.
  • Help build simple ways to measure whether training worked (quizzes, skills checklists, certification sign-off) and update materials based on results.
  • Keep training records, materials, and documentation organized and current in the LMS.

Training Delivery & Logistics

  • Assist leadership with new-owner onboarding from orientation through the first weeks on the job.
  • Administer the company’s Learning Management System (LMS): build courses, assign training, and track completion records.
  • Prepare and set up the training classroom when trainees are local (materials, seating, AV/equipment).
  • Order and manage supplies needed for each training class and coordinate catering when required.
  • Assemble welcome packages and training books/manuals for incoming Franchise Business Owners.
  • Take on additional onboarding and training-support tasks as needed — this is a hands-on role in a small, fast-moving organization where everyone wears multiple hats.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in training, instructional design, education, or a related field — coursework, internships, or on-the-job exposure all count.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design fundamentals and adult learning theory; formal training is a plus.
  • Familiarity with a Learning Management System (LMS), including course setup and completion tracking. Knowledge of Tovuti is a bonus.
  • Comfortable creating training materials in PowerPoint, Canva, or similar tools; experience with e‑learning authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to turn technical, how-to knowledge into clear training content.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage instructional design tasks and hands-on logistics simultaneously.
  • A hands-on, whatever-it-takes work ethic — comfortable wearing multiple hats.
  • Curiosity about new tools and methods, including AI-assisted content creation, is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as training needs require.

Bonus

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry, project management, or estimating.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to set up and break down classroom furniture, training equipment, and materials; lift and carry supplies and welcome-package materials (up to approximately 30–40 lbs).

Compensation

  • Estimated: $44,681 per year (reported estimate).

Culture Fit

  • Our client values Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Communication, Balance, and Grit. We’re looking for a Training Specialist who is positive, dependable, eager to grow instructional design skills, and invested in setting people up to succeed from day one.
