Overview

Confidential Client (agency services team) is hiring a Trainee to support sponsorship and experiential (event) marketing activations. This is a full-time, six-month trainee program based in Chicago, IL (remote work possible with on-site at 303 E Wacker Dr., Suite 2200). The Trainee will work closely with account teams to deliver high-quality client materials, support project and vendor management, and assist with event execution. Strong attention to detail, interest in sports & entertainment marketing, and excellent communication skills are required.


What You’ll Do

  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence and uphold high agency standards
  • Support project and vendor management and assist in client communications (status calls, reports, emails)
  • Edit and polish PowerPoint decks and client deliverables with high aesthetic and detail orientation
  • Conduct desk/online research to inform client/program objectives
  • Prepare and maintain administrative documents; support meeting prep and post-event follow-up
  • Help manage sponsorship-related tasks such as creative approvals, status tracking, and project coordination
  • Assist with event oversight and on-site execution as directed by the account team

Salary & Benefits

  • Starting salary: $45,000 for the six-month Trainee period
  • If converted to permanent hire after the trainee period, title becomes Assistant Account Executive with a salary of $47,500

Who We’re Looking For / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 0–1 years’ experience in marketing at an agency, brand, media company, or sports/entertainment property (entry-level candidates encouraged)
  • Strong interest in sponsorship and experiential/event marketing within sports & entertainment
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct online/desk research
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills; ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability and willingness to travel for business (typically 2–5 day trips) and work in an on-site/event environment
  • Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) are a plus
  • Proactive team player with a strong work ethic

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Authoritative location: Chicago, IL
  • Remote flexibility available; some on-site presence expected at 303 E Wacker Dr., Suite 2200 and for events
  • Role may include TELEMOMMUTE/remote work and travel for events
