Overview
You will join a confidential client engineering team focused on the design, development, and production lifecycle of electromagnetic grids and optical thin-film coatings. This role emphasizes manufacturing support for photolithography and thin-film coating processes used on lenses and windows. The position supports first shift, Tuesday–Friday (4x10B).
What You’ll Do
You will support and improve optics manufacturing processes with a focus on photolithography and/or thin-film coatings. Typical responsibilities include:
- Support manufacturing processes of optics with emphasis on photolithography and/or thin-film coatings.
- Design and develop optical coatings deposited on lenses and windows.
- Define process equipment parameters and maintenance requirements to support product sustainment.
- Perform characterization and metrology of deposited coatings; analyze and report results.
- Provide technical guidance and training to operators; create and maintain work instructions and SOPs.
- Investigate defective hardware, determine corrective actions, and implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Drive adoption of new technologies (automation, robotics, capital investments) to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
- Use factory data and SPC methods to support continuous improvement and yield enhancement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline from an accredited college.
- Coursework or hands-on experience in one or more of: thin film, coatings, photolithography, or optics.
- Experience or training in at least one data-analysis language/tool: Python, MATLAB, or Excel VBA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Broad manufacturing engineering exposure (work instructions/SOPs, automation, data analytics, mechanical design, cleanroom experience).
- Thin-film coating specialization: design, deposition methods (PVD, ion beam sputtering, CVD), and metrology.
- Photolithography specialization: semiconductor fabrication processes (wafer prep, coating, exposure, development, etch) and photolithography tools (steppers, scanners, track systems).
- Knowledge of process control techniques, SPC, control charts, and yield improvement strategies.
- Strong time-management, prioritization, independent work capability, and effective cross-functional communication.
Schedule & Location
- Work schedule: First shift — Tuesday to Friday (4x10B).
- Worksite: Edgewood, FL (on-site).
Pay & Benefits
- Full-Time Salary Range: $70,500.00 - $130,900.00 (annual).
