Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Test & Validation Engineer I to join their onsite manufacturing and test team in Forest, MS. This role supports production and test activities for complex electronic systems used in defense and communications applications. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain detailed test procedures for electronic assemblies, modules, and systems.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve test failures in both hardware and test environments.
- Maintain Special Test Equipment (STE) and recommend replacement equipment for obsolete systems.
- Train technicians and entry-level test engineers on test procedures and troubleshooting steps.
- Convert complex technical information into clear, concise, and visually engaging presentations.
- Support and improve automated test systems and test data workflows.
- Travel as required to support manufacturing or field test activities.
Qualifications — Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or another STEM discipline by the start date.
- Practical experience using standard electronic test procedures and test equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic test failures and test environment issues.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret).
Qualifications — Preferred
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience with defense/aerospace companies.
- Experience interpreting product specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with optical fiber communications, RF network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Familiarity with modern Automated Test Systems for electronics and Linux-based test tools.
- Experience analyzing test data to determine whether hardware meets specification.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $57,200 — $108,800 USD (good-faith estimate covering all experience levels).
