Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Test Operations Engineer I to join the TeraWave satellite test team in Glendale, CO. This entry-level, hands-on role supports space-vehicle level development and qualification environmental test campaigns (TVAC, vibration, acoustic, and functional testing) under the guidance of senior test engineers. You will help execute tests, maintain test hardware and data records, and build operational test skills that enable satellite qualification for high-rate production.


What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Support test campaign execution under supervision; perform assigned test steps and record results accurately.
  • Assist with hardware setup, cable reconfigurations, test fixture assembly, and consumables management for environmental tests.
  • Perform pre-test and post-test equipment checks, functional verifications, and visual inspections of test articles.
  • Install and de-install test articles in environmental chambers and on vibration fixtures.
  • Document anomalies clearly and escalate off-nominal observations to senior engineers promptly.
  • Incorporate red-line procedure mark-ups and update documentation following test execution.
  • Maintain bench orderliness, configuration accountability, and compliance with ESD/FOD procedures.
  • Participate in test briefings, anomaly reviews, and lessons-learned sessions.
  • Learn and develop competency in test operations, environmental test methods, and data interpretation under mentorship.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 0–2 years of hands-on experience in hardware test, vehicle integration, test support, or a related technical role; internships and co-ops accepted.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed technical procedures carefully and completely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data recording.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and team interactions.
  • Eagerness to learn spacecraft test operations and environmental test methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or project experience testing spacecraft, launch vehicles, or complex mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Exposure to environmental test environments (thermal, vibration, acoustic, vacuum).
  • Familiarity with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Academic or project background in aerospace structures, avionics, or vehicle systems.
  • Experience handling ESD-sensitive hardware.
  • Familiarity with configuration management or document control tools.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Pay Range (Colorado applicants): $74,537.00 - $104,351.10 per year.
  • Other site ranges may differ (example source lists a WA range: $81,313.00 - $113,837.85).
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) with company match, stock options (role-dependent), paid time off (up to four weeks annual, plus holidays), and education support programs. Eligibility may vary by role and employment type.
