What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Test Engineer, Radar Systems in Dayton, OH to support radar and RF test activities, system integration, verification/validation, and hands‑on lab test execution. This role focuses on RF chain and radar performance analysis, HITL (hardware‑in‑the‑loop) test builds, and documenting test planning and results for defense and mission systems.

  • Plan and execute system-level verification and validation, including functional and timeline analysis.
  • Perform RF chain and radar system performance analysis, and support all aspects of test execution.
  • Provide hands‑on test, integration, and verification support across lab facilities (algorithms, software, hardware, networking).
  • Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and test reports for customer deliveries.
  • Identify technical and programmatic risks and recommend mitigations.
  • Integrate test assets to meet customer-driven test objectives within an agile test environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment for radar and RF systems.
  • Plan test schedules, labor, and equipment requirements; specify tests and sampling parameters.
  • Compile test data, analyze results, and recommend changes to procedures or equipment.
  • Lead or support customer test events, including setup and execution of data acquisition and instrumentation.
  • Produce clear technical documentation: test plans, procedures, and final reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience or training supporting RF/radar testing, HITL setups, or similar lab integration work.
  • Familiarity with RF and electronic test equipment and data acquisition hardware/instrumentation.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and maintain clear communication with peers and leadership.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in adverse weather as required; ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must hold a minimum Secret security clearance at start and be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with enhanced checks.
  • Education / experience levels:
    • Junior: Bachelors in related field (0 years) or HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience.
    • Mid: Bachelors + 2 years relevant experience; or Masters (0 years) or HS diploma + 6 years relevant experience.
    • Senior: Bachelors + 5 years relevant experience; Masters + 3 years; PhD/JD (0 years) or HS diploma + 9 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with radar or electronic warfare system design and/or testing.
  • Experience with HITL build-up, algorithm verification, and test automation.
  • Comfortable working in lab, industrial, and field test environments.

Location & Work Conditions

  • Primary location: Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), within commutable distance of Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside.
  • Full-time, salaried, exempt position. Typical travel: 0–10%.
  • Physical requirements: may require climbing ladders, confined-space tolerance, and exposure to extreme temperature variances.

Compensation

The source posting lists an anticipated salary range of $61,334 – $128,804 annually (level-dependent). Final pay offers consider role, experience, education, and skills.
