Test Engineer
The Test Engineer is responsible for independently executing and managing customer test projects from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, and schedule objectives. This role involves designing and operating test setups, utilizing various automated and manual test equipment, leading test technicians, and collaborating with internal teams and customers across aerospace, telecommunications, military, and industrial sectors. The position requires strong technical aptitude, project coordination skills, and hands-on experience with data acquisition systems and test methodologies in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

What You’ll Do
This Test Engineer role executes customer test projects from planning through setup, fabrication, testing, and closeout in accordance with statements of work, test plans, and applicable requirements. You will be a key technical resource in specialized test laboratories supporting aerospace, telecommunications, military, and industrial programs.
- Execute customer test projects from initial planning through setup, fabrication, testing, and completion per customer test plans and specifications.
- Independently design, instrument, and oversee assigned test activities; ensure tests meet cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Operate automated and manual test equipment including data acquisition systems (DAQ), environmental chambers, vibration and shock systems, and measurement transducers.
- Design and assemble test fixtures to customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Lead and coordinate test technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate execution of test work.
- Author and maintain test plans, procedures, work instructions, and test reports.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data; verify results and maintain compliance with internal processes.
- Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and program status meetings with customers and internal teams.
- Coordinate multiple test projects across engineering disciplines and contribute to continuous improvement of methods, fixtures, and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant engineering, test, laboratory, or technical project experience preferred; strong recent graduates with hands-on or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with DAQ systems for command, control, monitoring, and data collection.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and develop practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required due to access to U.S. export-controlled information.
- Eligibility to be added as a possessor under an explosives license, if applicable.
- Valid driver’s license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications (Preferred)
- Experience with NI LabVIEW or similar DAQ software and associated sensors/transducers.
- Familiarity with qualification testing: thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, electrical, or fiber optic testing.
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and test fixture design.
- Project coordination, project engineering, or customer-facing technical liaison experience.
- Prior experience writing formal test reports and interpreting industry standards and customer test plans.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily onsite in climate-controlled test laboratories and office areas on a multi-building test campus.
- Frequent use of automated and manual test equipment, environmental chambers, vibration and shock systems, and data acquisition tools.
- Some duties may require time in warehouse or non-climate-controlled areas during setup or equipment handling.
- Use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear) may be required in designated areas.
Job Type & Location
- Contract to Hire — fully onsite in Oxnard, CA (Oxnard, California).

Pay & Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 – $120,000 per year. Individual compensation offered will depend on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
