About the Opportunity
Confidential Client is seeking a Temporary General Liability Claims Representative for an entry-level claims role supporting public-entity and self-insured clients. This is a hands-on claims position focused on general liability, automobile bodily injury, property damage, premises liability, and product liability claims. The role includes strong training, access to collaborative teams, and tools to support efficient claims handling.
What You’ll Do
- Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of liability for personal, casualty, auto, and property losses.
- Assess and estimate vehicle and property damage.
- Interview claimants, witnesses, medical specialists, and other parties to gather facts.
- Obtain and review police, medical, and other records to evaluate liability exposure.
- Calculate, recommend, and approve payments within delegated authority; properly establish and adjust claim reserves.
- Maintain timely, accurate records and diaries in the claims management system; prepare reports for clients.
- Support litigation management by collecting evidence and coordinating with counsel as needed.
- Follow applicable insurance, contract, and regulatory requirements and adhere to claims-handling best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience with insurance claims, self-insurance, pooled insurance, or Joint Powers Authorities preferred; public entity liability experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of PC experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Minimum two (2) years experience with virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom) and ability to host group meetings.
- Experience with claims management software, or demonstrated ability to learn new claims systems quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour (as stated by the client). Actual pay will be determined by experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
- Position is eligible for Confidential Client’s full benefits package (subject to client policy).
