Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Technology Sales Engineer for their 2027 sales program based in the Durham, NC area (Research Triangle Park). This role is an accelerated technical-sales development position combining hands-on technical work, customer-facing demonstrations, and sales collaboration. The program includes structured onboarding, formal technical-sales training, mentorship, and ongoing professional development designed to launch a career in solution consulting and technical sales.
What You’ll Do
You will support sales opportunities by translating technical capabilities into business value and helping customers evaluate, adopt, and expand solutions.
- Participate in client discovery sessions to gather business objectives, technical requirements, and success criteria.
- Design and validate technical solution approaches that address customer challenges across AI, hybrid cloud, automation, data, and security.
- Build and deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept (PoCs), workshops, and technical presentations that highlight solution functionality and integration.
- Translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support customer adoption and success by identifying deployment considerations, removing technical barriers, and defining actionable next steps.
- Collaborate with sales, technical specialists, customer success teams, and partners to progress opportunities and capture expansion areas.
- Contribute reusable assets, technical best practices, and innovative ideas that accelerate client outcomes.
- Present technical findings and recommended next steps to stakeholders at varying levels.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following baseline requirements by the start date:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud computing, software development, AI, automation, data, or cybersecurity.
- Experience programming in at least one language (for example: Python, Java, JavaScript, C++).
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to prototype or troubleshoot applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a clear passion for client success and technology.
Preferred Experience
The ideal candidate may also have:
- Internship, co-op, research, project, or extracurricular experience in technology, consulting, customer success, technical sales, or software development.
- Exposure to major cloud platforms, AI/ML toolchains, cybersecurity, automation, or modern application development practices.
- Technical certifications or participation in hackathons, case competitions, or technology programs.
- Leadership experience in student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or community involvement.
- Domain knowledge in specific industries relevant to client customers.
