Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Technology Designer (New Graduate) in Columbus, OH. This role provides hands-on experience in low‑voltage/ICT systems design for buildings, mentorship and structured development, and opportunities to grow technical and project-delivery skills from day one.

What You’ll Do
- Develop technology design documentation: drawings, specifications, equipment layouts, system diagrams, schedules, and basic design calculations.
- Use engineering and design software to create coordinated technology solutions that meet codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Software examples: Revit, Visio (A/V & Network), iBWave (RF/Wi‑Fi modeling), EASE/EASE Evac (speaker modeling), JVSG (camera coverage), ArcGIS (ESRI), PowerBI, Microsoft Office.
- Conduct site visits and existing‑condition assessments to document facility conditions and inform design.
- Assist experienced designers and engineers in evaluating requirements and producing practical, buildable technology solutions.
- Coordinate technology systems with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural teams during design.
- Support preparation and review of construction documents and specifications through multiple design phases.
- Participate in client and internal project meetings; document meeting outcomes and technical decisions.
- Help with project planning, task coordination, scheduling, and tracking to support timely delivery.
- Contribute to quality control and technical review processes to ensure accuracy, coordination, and code compliance.
- Research codes, standards, and best practices; apply findings to project work.
- Progressively assume greater responsibility for deliverables while developing technical, communication, and project management skills.
What You’ll Bring
Required education & skills:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering; Information Technology; Computer Science; or another STEM discipline (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts used to produce technical plans and specifications.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with basic understanding of electrical voltage/current, digital/analog signals, and IT networking topologies/protocols as they relate to low‑voltage systems.
- Basic BIM/Revit familiarity and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as required.
Preferred:
- Prior internship experience in building design or consulting.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) credential.
