Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Technology Consulting Consultant to join a growing IT consulting practice in Phoenix, AZ. This early-career consultant role offers structured onboarding, hands-on project experience across multiple technology domains, and mentorship to accelerate technical and professional growth.
What you’ll do
- Work on client engagements across one or more technology capability areas (Business Platform Transformation, Enterprise Data/Analytics & AI, Microsoft, Security & Privacy, Technology Risk & Resilience, Technology Strategy & Architecture).
- Collect, analyze, and document data and findings to support client recommendations.
- Contribute to technical assessments, risk analyses, and solution design efforts.
- Support project delivery tasks such as testing, data migration, reporting, and implementation activities.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Apply AI-powered productivity tools and automation to improve team efficiency and deliverables.
- Participate in formal onboarding, training, and professional development programs.
Core responsibilities
- Compile and analyze data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for clients.
- Support development of dashboards, visualizations, and reports using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Assist with technical testing, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities for security projects.
- Contribute to cloud, application, and infrastructure modernization efforts under guidance of senior staff.
- Help document technical designs, business-process maps, and test plans during implementations.
- Support risk assessments, control evaluations, and resilience planning.
- Own assigned tasks, manage time and priorities, and escalate issues appropriately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Applied Math, or a related technology field.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; willingness to learn and adapt.
- Familiarity with AI productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenAI) is preferred.
- Technical proficiency aligned to assigned capability area (see Preferred Skills below).
Preferred skills & experience
- Experience or academic exposure to BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, BusinessObjects, Cognos, QlikView, SSRS).
- Competency with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Teradata).
- Entry-level knowledge of networking, domain management, segmentation, and middleware.
- Introductory understanding of IT controls, internal control frameworks, and technology risk.
- Basic programming ability (Python, Java, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Familiarity with security concepts (authentication, encryption, identity management, data protection).
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday) and implementation lifecycle tasks.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern customer tech stacks.
- Experience preparing or cleaning data for analytics or automation use cases.
- Strong Excel and data-manipulation skills; ability to synthesize research into clear deliverables.
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary range: $70,000 — $87,000 per year (placement within range depends on experience, skills, and work location).
- Annual bonus target: $2,000.
- Estimated total cash range: $72,000 — $89,000.
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life and disability insurance, parental leave, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off (Choice Time Off), and paid holidays. Actual benefits and eligibility depend on role and location.
Work model & location
- Hybrid model: combination of in-person and remote work to support client outcomes and team collaboration.
- Primary work location: Phoenix, AZ. Work may require client site presence and local or out-of-state travel depending on project needs.
