  • Support mission-aligned communications by translating senior-leader and government direction into clear, actionable materials (briefings, plans, org charts).
  • Create compliant, persuasive proposal content (RFP/RFI/RFQ responses): analyze solicitation requirements, draft/edit proposal sections, and help develop past performance and resumes.
  • Produce technical documentation: user guides, SOPs, help articles, knowledge-base content, quick-reference guides, and training materials for non-expert audiences.
  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) and convert technical input into clear, accurate content.
  • Build and maintain SharePoint sites and knowledge repositories to organize information and support onboarding.
  • Develop visual aids (diagrams, process flows, charts, infographics) that clarify procedures and technical concepts.
  • Apply templates, style guides, and government formatting standards (e.g., accessibility considerations) to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Deliver assigned artifacts on schedule and collaborate closely with capture, proposal, and delivery teams.

Who You Are (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years relevant experience, or equivalent experience. Degrees in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Journalism, or related fields are a plus.
  • Experience responding to government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and writing compliant proposal sections.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation for non-expert audiences (user guides, SOPs, training guides, knowledge-base articles).
  • Strong interviewing, editing, and proofreading skills; attention to consistency in style and formatting.
  • Experience working within document templates and style guides.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Prior experience writing for government proposals and familiarity with government formatting and accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508).
  • Experience with documentation or knowledge management platforms (SharePoint, Confluence, MadCap Flare, ServiceNow).
  • Ability to create visual documentation and diagrams (Visio, Lucidchart, Illustrator).
  • Familiarity with government program operations and the environments supported by the client.
