Responsibilities

This role supports proposal development and mission-focused technical documentation for a Confidential Client in the IT sector. Key responsibilities include:

  • Mission alignment & strategic support
    • Translate senior-leader priorities and government requirements into clear, actionable briefings, plans, and internal materials.
    • Create and maintain organizational charts and SharePoint sites to organize and share business-unit information.
    • Convert government-supplied material into training and onboarding content for internal use.
  • Proposal development
    • Analyze solicitation requirements (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and develop compliant, persuasive proposal content.
    • Draft, edit, format, and proofread proposal sections (past performance, resumes, technical and non-technical sections).
    • Use proposal best practices (storyboarding, win themes) to align assigned content with overall strategy.
    • Serve as a past-performance or resume writer as needed and deliver artifacts on schedule.
  • Technical documentation
    • Produce and maintain user guides, SOPs, help articles, FAQs, training materials, and knowledge-base content.
    • Interview subject-matter experts (SMEs) and translate complex concepts into plain-language, user-friendly documentation.
    • Support creation of visual aids (diagrams, process flows, infographics) to improve comprehension.
  • Collaboration and quality
    • Work with SMEs, project managers, analysts, and stakeholders to gather information and document processes.
    • Ensure consistency in style, formatting, terminology, and branding across documents.
    • Apply templates, style guides, and applicable government formatting standards (e.g., accessibility).
    • Meet deadlines and adhere to organizational quality and security requirements.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 1–3 years relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience responding to government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and producing compliant proposal content.
  • Demonstrated ability to write technical documentation (user guides, SOPs, help content) for non-expert audiences.
  • Strong interviewing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to consistency in style and formatting.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with document templates and style guides.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience writing for government proposals and familiarity with government formatting standards (Section 508, agency style guides).
  • Experience with knowledge-management platforms and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Confluence, ServiceNow).
  • Ability to create visual assets (Visio, Lucidchart, Illustrator) to support documentation.
  • Background or exposure to government program operations and IT environments.

Compensation & Clearance

  • Posted salary range: USD $60,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 per year.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance is required.
