What You’ll Do

You will help produce both winning federal proposals and mission-facing technical documentation for the business unit. Typical assignments include:

  • Mission alignment & strategic support
    • Convert senior‑leader direction and government guidance into clear, actionable plans, briefings, and organizational charts.
    • Build and maintain SharePoint sites and other knowledge hubs to organize and share information.
    • Draft internal materials that support onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer.
  • Proposal development
    • Analyze solicitation requirements (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and write compliant, persuasive proposal content.
    • Support past performance and resume development; draft, edit, format, and proofread assigned proposal sections.
    • Apply proposal best practices (storyboarding, win themes) and ensure alignment with overall proposal strategy.
  • Technical documentation
    • Produce user guides, SOPs, knowledge base articles, FAQs, quick‑reference guides, and training materials for non‑expert audiences.
    • Interview subject‑matter experts (SMEs) to translate technical concepts into clear, concise content.
    • Create or support visual aids (diagrams, process flows, charts, infographics) to improve reader comprehension.
  • Collaboration & quality control
    • Work closely with SMEs, program staff, capture/proposal teams, and project managers to gather accurate information and meet deadlines.
    • Maintain consistency of style, formatting, and terminology across documents using templates and style guides.
    • Adhere to security, accessibility (where required), and government documentation standards.

Qualifications

Required (minimum)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 1–3 years relevant experience (degrees in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Journalism, or related fields are a plus).
  • Demonstrated experience producing technical documentation (user guides, SOPs, help content, or training materials) for non‑expert audiences.
  • Experience responding to government solicitations (RFPs/RFIs/RFQs) and writing compliant proposal sections.
  • Strong interviewing, editing, and proofreading skills; attention to detail in formatting and terminology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience writing for government proposals and familiarity with government formatting standards (e.g., Section 508, agency style guides).
  • Experience with SharePoint, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or ServiceNow knowledge base platforms.
  • Ability to create visuals (Visio, Lucidchart, Illustrator) to support technical documents.
  • Familiarity with government program operations and the environments that support federal customers.

Clearance & Compensation

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability / Public Trust clearance is required.
  • Posted salary range: USD $60,000.00 – USD $70,000.00 per year. This range reflects expected base pay at the start of employment; offers may vary based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

Work Location & Hiring Process

  • This is a fully remote position within the United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Typical interview steps include a virtual video interview (camera on) and identity verification. Final candidates will complete enhanced biometrics screening and background checks (criminal history for the past 7 years, education verification, and employment history verification for the past 7 years).
