What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Proposal Analyst / Technical Writer to join their growth and delivery teams. This dual-focus role blends proposal writing with technical documentation for government IT programs. You will turn solicitation requirements into compliant, persuasive proposal content and produce user-facing technical documentation (user guides, SOPs, FAQs, training materials) that programs rely on.

  • Support mission-alignment initiatives by translating leadership priorities into clear, actionable plans and briefs.
  • Draft, edit, format, and proofread proposal sections (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs), integrating win themes and ensuring compliance.
  • Produce past performance summaries and resumes for proposal submissions.
  • Develop technical documentation: user guides, SOPs, knowledge base articles, FAQs, and quick-reference guides.
  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) and translate technical concepts into plain-language content for non-expert audiences.
  • Create and maintain SharePoint sites and documentation libraries to organize team knowledge.
  • Support visual deliverables (diagrams, flowcharts, infographics) to clarify processes.
  • Apply templates, style guides, and government formatting standards (including accessibility considerations) to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Deliver assigned artifacts on schedule and collaborate across capture, proposal, and delivery teams.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience. Degrees in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or Journalism are a plus.
  • Experience responding to government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) or strong familiarity with proposal processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to write compliant, persuasive proposal sections and produce technical documentation for non-expert users.
  • Strong interviewing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to style, structure, and consistency.
  • Comfortable working in document templates, following style guides, and using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience writing for government proposals and familiarity with agency formatting standards (e.g., Section 508).
  • Experience with documentation or knowledge-management platforms (SharePoint, Confluence, MadCap Flare, ServiceNow KB).
  • Ability to create visual aids (Visio, Lucidchart, Illustrator) and familiarity with government program operations.
