About the Role

Confidential Client is seeking a Technical Writer (Level 1) to support mission-focused IT and cyber programs. You will develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation and executive communications that support cyberspace operations, C5ISR-related systems, and other defense-focused IT efforts.

What You’ll Do

• Draft, edit, and maintain clear technical documentation (SOPs, user guides, process descriptions).
• Produce and refine executive‑level communications and briefing materials.
• Create and edit briefing slides and other deliverables for leadership and stakeholders.
• Work with subject-matter experts (SMEs) to gather, verify, and translate technical information into audience-appropriate content.
• Apply document control, versioning, and quality standards to publications.
• Support an operational environment where shift schedules may be adjusted to maintain 24x7 coverage as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Technical Communication, English, Information Technology, Communications).
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph (required for consideration).
• Willingness and flexibility to adjust shifts to support 24x7 operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing accuracy and clarity for technical and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing or editing executive-level communications.
• Experience developing and editing briefing slides and materials.
• Familiarity with cyber operations, C5ISR concepts, or DoD mission environments (helpful but not required).

Compensation & Clearance

• Anticipated salary range (provided by the client): $58,000 — $71,000 per year.
• Required security clearance: Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
• Required travel: 0–10% (as stated).

Location & Work Environment

• Job location: Maryland, MD (on-site or as required by contract/customer).
• Work supports an operational combatant-command environment; schedule flexibility may be required during periods of heightened operations or staffing changes.
