Role Overview

Confidential Client seeks an entry-level Technical Writer / Proposal Analyst (fully remote, U.S.-based) to support proposal development and produce technical documentation used by program teams and government customers. This dual-focus role combines RFP/RFI response writing with user-facing documentation (SOPs, user guides, knowledge base articles, training materials). You will interview subject matter experts (SMEs), translate technical detail into plain language, and work with capture, proposal, and delivery teams to deliver compliant, compelling content.

Responsibilities

  • Support mission-alignment and strategic communication by converting leadership and government priorities into clear briefings, plans, and organizational materials.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint sites and other knowledge repositories to organize program documentation.
  • Produce compliant, well-structured proposal content (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs), including past performance narratives and resumes.
  • Draft, edit, format, and proofread proposal sections using storyboarding and proposal best practices.
  • Create technical documentation for non-expert audiences: user guides, SOPs, FAQs, quick-reference guides, and training materials.
  • Interview SMEs and translate technical concepts into user-friendly content.
  • Build simple visual aids (process flows, charts, diagrams) to support documents.
  • Ensure consistency with templates, style guides, Section 508 and other government formatting standards where applicable.
  • Meet deadlines, maintain version control, and adhere to security and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years relevant experience, or equivalent experience in writing, communications, technical writing, or related fields.
  • Experience with government solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and the ability to write compliant proposal content.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation (user guides, SOPs, help content) for non-expert audiences.
  • Strong interviewing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to style and formatting consistency.
  • Comfortable working in templates and guided documentation environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • US-based remote work required.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior proposal-writing experience for government contracts.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards and agency-specific style guides.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Confluence, ServiceNow, or knowledge management platforms.
  • Experience with visual tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Illustrator) or creating infographics.
  • Familiarity with government program operations and supporting environments.

Clearance Required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability / Public Trust clearance.

  • Valid photo ID may be requested during the interview process.
  • Background checks and identity verification: criminal history (past 7 years), education and employment verification (past 7 years), and enhanced biometric ID verification as required.
  • If selected, you will be employed directly by Confidential Client.
