Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Technical Writer/Editor to support mission-focused cyber operations and C5ISR efforts at a secure site in Fort Meade, FL. This role contributes to executive-level communications, briefing materials, and clear technical documentation used by DoD and allied mission partners. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, flexibility for shift changes supporting 24x7 operations, and limited travel (0–10%).
What You’ll Do
- Produce, edit, and proofread technical documents, executive communications, and briefing slides that support cyber and C5ISR teams.
- Review and refine executive-level summaries, talking points, and decision packages for senior leaders.
- Develop and edit briefing slide decks and associated materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style and security guidelines.
- Work with subject-matter experts to translate complex technical content into concise, mission-focused deliverables.
- Support rapid changes in mission requirements and adjust deliverables and schedules to meet customer needs.
- Maintain document control and classification handling per customer guidance and security requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required for consideration.
- Ability to flex work shifts to support 24x7 operations as operational needs require.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
- Entry-level experience appropriate for technical writing roles supporting government or defense customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience drafting or editing executive-level communications.
- Proven experience creating and editing briefing slides and materials for senior leaders.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, DoD operations, C5ISR concepts, or mission-focused technical environments is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work with technical SMEs under tight deadlines.
Compensation & Work Conditions
- Anticipated salary range: $58,000 – $71,000 per year (good-faith estimate based on location and role).
- Employment type: Full time / Salaried / Exempt.
- Required travel: 0–10%.
- This role supports operations within a combatant command; during periods of conflict or shift changes, work schedules may be adjusted based on customer requirements.
