Role Overview
We are hiring a Technical Support Specialist to join a Confidential Client’s Networks team in Irving, TX (hybrid). This entry-level to early-career role focuses on troubleshooting networking hardware and firmware, managing support tickets, performing basic device configuration and testing, and documenting resolutions. It’s an excellent opportunity to build hands-on experience with industrial/enterprise networking devices and to grow into higher-level support or networking engineering roles.
What You’ll Do
- Review, prioritize, and resolve technical support tickets in the ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, and connectivity issues for networking devices.
- Perform basic device configuration and testing to reproduce reported issues.
- Document troubleshooting steps, findings, and case updates clearly and promptly.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers with detailed context.
- Assist with firmware updates, product testing, and validation of fixes.
- Maintain and improve internal technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Quality teams to resolve product-related issues.
- Continuously learn networking concepts and Linux-based systems through training and hands-on work.
What We Expect of You
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
- 0–2 years experience in technical support, help desk, networking, IT, or related roles (internships and academic projects welcome).
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
- Familiarity with Wi‑Fi technologies and common internet protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Clear written communication and strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn Linux-based systems and networking technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple support tickets while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with routers, switches, gateways, or similar networking equipment.
- Exposure to Linux through coursework, labs, or personal projects.
- Basic knowledge of VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, or network security concepts.
- Experience using ticketing systems or IT service management tools.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or similar certifications are a plus but not required.
