What You’ll Do

You will join a small, technically deep product team driving development of next‑generation EV seating and interior systems. This role is hands-on and cross-functional — you’ll coordinate engineering, supply chain, finance, and strategy to keep complex hardware programs on schedule and within plan from concept through industrialization.

  • Use your technical background to drive engineering issues to resolution and protect program schedule through Start of Production (SOP) and beyond.
  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, finance, and strategy to scope work, define requirements, identify risks, and estimate budgets.
  • Support the full product development lifecycle: ideation, design, validation, integration, and industrialization for seating and interior systems.
  • Surface and escalate issues found in design reviews, virtual builds, and physical build events; lead containment and corrective actions.
  • Track deliverables for system compatibility and integration opportunities; identify ways to increase velocity and reduce cross-team friction.
  • Maintain supplier relationships (in partnership with Supply Chain) to secure parts and supplier support for build and test events.
  • Prepare focused meeting agendas that drive decisions, remove blockers, and retire risks.
  • Champion transparency: make problems visible early and ensure risk-mitigation plans are executed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field — or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in technical program management, project engineering, or a similar role supporting hardware development. Early‑career candidates with strong internships/co‑op experience are encouraged.
  • Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle (design → development → validation → integration → launch).
  • Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies used in automotive interiors/seating.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across teams and timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to facilitate cross‑functional decision making.

Preferred & Helpful Skills

  • Experience with automotive seating, interiors, or EV systems.
  • Familiarity with AIAG APQP and PPAP processes and performance testing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment.
  • Systems‑oriented mindset with curiosity, attention to detail, and continuous‑improvement focus.
  • Passion for automotive innovation and delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused products.

Location & Work Model

  • Location: East Long Beach, CA (on-site presence required per the hybrid schedule)
  • Work Model: Hybrid — 4 days per week in the office (role requires regular in‑person collaboration and attendance at physical build events).
